Our nationally recognised CPC41020 Certificate IV in Demolition provides comprehensive training for demolition learners and is designed to cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work. This qualification aims individuals who want a trade outcome in demolition, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

WHY CPC41020 – CERTIFICATE IV IN DEMOLITION TRAINING IS FOR YOU?

Do you have experience and skills in the Demolition sector but don’t have a formal qualification? Do you want to be a qualified licensed Demolisher? A Certificate IV in Demolition will help you gain certification and an internship with our partner Lodeveld Contracting, a Melbourne-based Demolition Specialists in live Demolition and Asbestos Removal project that will make you eligible to apply for a Demolition and an Asbestos Removal license as well.

For the first time in Australia, Frontier in partnership with Builder Registration has developed a unique Delivery and Assessment model for Certificate IV in Demolition to provide hands-on work experience on live projects while undergoing training and assessment with Frontier. Upon completion of this course, exclusive support in association with Builder Registration will be given to assist you to gain your license in Demolition. Along with that, this course offers units of competency in Asbestos removal that will lead you to gain an additional license in Asbestos removal.

Frontier Institute of Technology has regular intakes of students for Face-to-Face training. You can prepare yourself to be become a Demolition Supervisor or Site Supervisor (Demolition) and take control of your career as a leader.

Who is Builder Registration?

Builder Registration helps trades and business professionals obtain their Builder’s Licence. If you have completed your Cert IV or Diploma in Building and Construction and maximise your chances to successfully register and gain your license, Builder Registration assists you through the process to obtain your licence.

Overview (What is the course about?):

Our nationally recognised CPC41020 Certificate IV in Demolition provides comprehensive training for demolition learners and is designed to cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work. This qualification aims for individuals who want a trade outcome in demolition, covering work in residential and commercial applications. The certification allows students to undergo an internship with our partner company.

This course prepares students for roles as Demolition Supervisor, Project Engineers, or Site Supervisor (Demolition) among others.

Course Suitability (Is this course for me?)

The Certificate IV in Demolition training is suitable for all types of learners, as individuals wanting to start a career in Demolition or as a skilled tradesman wanting to step up in their career ladder with certification and becoming a licensed Demolisher. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to meet the requirements of being eligible to apply for a license as a Demolisher or an Asbestos Removal expert.

1st Cohort: Beginner (Full Study Model) – limited knowledge or skills in the competence contained in this qualification. No recent related industry experience. No LLN

2nd Cohort: Intermediate (Partial Study Model) – moderate prior knowledge and skills in the competence contained in this qualification. Limited recent related industry experience, under 1 year.

3rd Cohort: Advanced (Assessment Only Pathway) – Extensive knowledge and skills in the competence contained in this qualification. Recent related industry work experience of one to two years.

4th Cohort: Expert (RPL Pathway) – Extensive specific knowledge and skills in the competence contained in this qualification; current relevant industry experience of 2 or more years and these candidates are recommended to undertake a full recognition pathway.

At Frontier, currently, the Certificate IV in Demolition structured learning and assessment method is designed based on an intermediate level where an advanced level learner can also enrol.

The maximum duration is 1 year but the structured learning and assessment would be conducted for 3 months with a self-paced component and another 3 months to undertake an Internship.

Entry requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or over
  • Be sufficiently proficient in English (read, write and speak) to be able to work successfully in a highly regulated environment
  • Have satisfactorily completed a minimum of year 12 or equivalent

Pre Training Review (PTR)

A pre-training interview would be conducted with the applicant by a Frontier representative. This interview will help us identify your prior experience, existing knowledge, skills, and suitability for the course. Pre Training Review will be valuable in determining additional support and/or reasonable adjustment required for you to successfully complete the course.

Language, Literacy & Numeracy

Applicants must undertake a language, literacy, and numeracy assessment during their induction session prior to beginning the qualification. Results will be assessed on an individual level by the assessor.

Depending upon the level of support required for the language, literacy, or numeracy an alternative training and assessment methods may be used or the learners will be recommended to pursue the Foundation Skills program, which will help them fulfill the LLN gap and achieve the qualification.

Course delivery (How will i learn and be assessed?)

At Frontier, to suit your learning style, we have adopted different delivery and assessment pathways as per your suitability. You are advised to identify your delivery method prior to enrolling in the qualification. Frontier Institute of Training and Technology offers the following delivery modes for this qualification.

Face-to-Face Delivery and Work-basedFace-to-face delivery involves structured classroom-based training in a simulated work environment. The training sessions will be conducted one-to-one or in a group. Practical work placement (internship) will cover all the practical tasks. Each session will allow enough time for the students to learn the topic, undertake practice opportunities, and complete / submit set tasks required for assessment purposes  

Self- paced Online Assessment pathway – Self-paced assessment pathway involves the learner undertaking and completing assessment tasks on their own in between face-to-face sessions within the enrollment duration. 

You would be undertaking and completing the assessments online by using our Cloud Assess Assessment Portal. Frontier is always committed to supporting our students. You would receive weekly one-on-one support sessions from your Trainer and Assessor to clarify collective doubts, discuss topics of your concern, or seek guidance on completing your assessment tasks. You would be receiving the support sessions through the Microsoft team. All support sessions are recorded for you to refer to or view later. 

On-the-job learning and assessment On-the-job learning and assessments are structured face-to-face delivery and assessments where learners are trained and assessed at their workplace by a Frontier Trainer and Assessor within the agreed time and duration which is developed in consultation with the Employer based on the Training Need Analysis. Workplace training and assessment can be conducted one-on-one or with a group of learners from the same employer contextualised to the employer’s need.  

Course Duration (How long will it take to complete the course?)

The time taken to complete will depend on the learner and the delivery and assessment method selected.

Intake Dates – Frontier Institute of Technology offers monthly intakes and the course may be commenced at your discretion. Please inquire with the Student Administration regarding intake dates. Intake dates are also published and updated on our website at www.frontier.edu.au.

Course Duration –The course duration is for 5 months but will vary depending upon your prior experience, knowledge, and abilities. The duration of completion depends on what pace you would like to complete the course. If you are unable to complete all the units within 1 year, you will be requested to re-enrol into the units of competency of the qualification that you have not successfully completed at the end of the expected duration.

Credit Transfer

What is Credit Transfer? 

You may be eligible for Credit Transfer if you have completed a similar qualification or any of the units of competency listed under the course structure (LINK). You can list the units of competency in the enrolment form and provide a statement of attainment to attain Credit Transfer. This will hugely affect in shortening your course duration.
