Learn a life skill that saves life and spreads awareness

One of the primary concerns of every human being is ensuring each other’s safety. In a highly unpredictable environment, it is important that individuals are able to confidently respond to accidents and injuries at home, at a workplace or in a public space because the treatment a casualty receives in this time can affect the outcome.

The First Aid course equips an individual to provide the assistance required before medical help arrives.

What the course is about?

The short course is designed to equip individuals with basic skills required to assist in an emergency until medical help arrives. The course will guide you to use simple techniques and procedures that can be performed with limited equipment. The training will not only benefit you as an individual but your knowledge will also be of immense assistance to your family, friends, co-workers and in the community in general. On completion of the course, you will be issued a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

Entry requirements

Prior to your 1-day practical face-to-face course you are required to take a pre-course online learning assessment.

Applicants must:

  • Be 21 years or over
  • Students must have the physical ability to kneel and perform CPR on the floor uninterrupted for at least two minutes.

Language, Literacy & Numeracy

Applicants must undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment during their induction session prior to beginning the qualification. Results will be assessed on an individual level by the assessor.

Depending upon the level of support required for the language, literacy or numeracy an alternative training and assessment methods may be used or the learners will be recommended to pursue Foundation Skills program, which will help them fulfil the LLN gap and achieve the qualification.
