Entry requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be 21 years or over
  • Be sufficiently proficient in English (read, write and speak) to be able to work successfully in a highly regulated environment
  • Be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area.

Pre Training Review (PTR)

A pre training interview would be conducted with the applicant by a Frontier representative. This interview will help us identify your prior experience, existing knowledge, skills and suitability for the course. Pre Training Review will be valuable in determining additional support and/or reasonable adjustment required for you to successfully complete the course.

Language, Literacy & Numeracy

Applicants must undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment during their induction session prior to beginning the qualification. Results will be assessed on an individual level by the assessor.

Depending upon the level of support required for the language, literacy or numeracy an alternative training and assessment methods may be used or the learners will be recommended to pursue Foundation Skills program, which will help them fulfil the LLN gap and achieve the qualification.

Beginner Level Immersive Learning

Overview

This is our intermediate/ in-house training module directed towards those learners who want to be involved in the classroom workshops, take advantage of face-to-face learning and yet complete the course at a shorter duration.

Who is the course suited for

Beginner Level Immersive Learning Workshop – Learners with limited knowledge or skills in the competence contained in this qualification. No recent related industry experience in VET Sector within the RTO Industry.

  • 1. Learners who like the discipline of structured learning environment.
  • 2. Learners who need continuous support in the class room face to face.
  • 3. Learners Likes the scaffolding approach to training and assessment so they feel that they are progressing
  • 4. Learners have some background or involvement in training within their industry but not vocational
  • 5. Learners want to be job ready

Course Highlights 

  • The face to face sessions introduce students to the foundational elements of the course.
  • Practical learning activities for hands on learning of each skill.
  • Assessments are tackled in class mostly with the exception of minimum Take Away Self-Paced Assessments to reduce to load on our students.
  • Get access to online resources to continue your learning at your own pace after 3 weeks of face-to-face classes.
  • Weekly support sessions for students who opt for online self-paced study.

Intermediate - Partial Study Mode

Overview

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

This qualification (or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it) is also a suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.

Who is the course suited for

Cohort: Intermediate (Partial Study Model) – moderate prior knowledge and skills in the competence contained in this qualification. Limited recent related industry experience, under 1 year. Our target group for this qualification are existing experienced workers in various services, technical and business industries who aspire to become a trainer/assessor or need to upgrade their skills to gain currency in this field to deliver and assess national accredited courses.

Intermediate Learners are:

    • Currently working full time or part time in their respective industry
    • Having the ability to learn and complete assessment at their own pace with some structured training.
    • Likes the scaffolding approach to training and assessment
    • Can provide only weekend or evening to undertake structured learning
    • Have some background or involvement in training within their industry but not vocational
    • Kinaesthetic learners who want to learn by doing so spend more time on structured training must have hands-on approach.

Entry Requirements

Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

Delivery Method

This course blends fast-track face to face sessions with online self-learning and is delivered as follows:

  • Virtual Face to Face in groups using ZOOM online platform
  • Classroom-based Face to Face (due to Pandemic not in practice)
  • 24 Weekends (Saturday Class) or 24 Weeks (Evening Class)
  • Additional 2 hours per week support session (supervised self-paced) over 24 weeks

Course Highlights 

  • Get full trainer guidance to understand the elements of each unit thoroughly.
  • The online delivery option includes Zoom sessions along with portal work.
  • Designed especially for individuals who need to balance between work, family and study.

The total volume of learning is spread across – 36 weeks which consist of:

1. Structured learning for 12 or 24 weeks based on the timetable selected by the student. It includes lectures, knowledge assessments, skills assessments, projects, and online learning.

2. Further support sessions are organised for 24 weeks after the completion of 12 weeks of structured training and assessment.

3. Learners may be able to complete the course with less duration as per the hours allocated depending on their capability, skill and knowledge and hence the volume of learning may be adjusted accordingly for individual learners which can be determined by the end of the course and as per the training plan records.

Overview

This is an advanced learning module that is directed towards highly motivated self-learners with over 2 years of relevant industry experience and pre-requisite skills and competencies.

Delivery Method

This is a complete online self-study module which is spread across 6 months.

  • Get on-going support from assessors through Zoom and phone calls or emails throughout the course.
  • The learning structure is extremely flexible, allowing you to learn at your pace.
  • Induction for course is carried out fortnightly by each trainer.
