“Earn a living doing things that suit you. Find things that you are interested in, even passionate about and investigate possible ways to monetize them.” ― Jennifer Ritchie Payette

If you want to take that big leap to restart your career, or looking for a career change, then the timing couldn’t have been more appropriate. Take the plunge.

Frontier Training Institute has regular intakes with new group of classes starting regularly. You can choose to do the course face to face with a small group of students in a modern classroom setting or online as blended delivery.

Bring your skills and passion together, complete the qualification and follow the path of a Trainer and Assessor and reclaim your career on your own terms.

Our nationally recognized TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment provides knowledge and skills to work in the VET industry.

This qualification (or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it) is also a suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.

The potential career pathways after successful completion would be as an enterprise trainer or assessor, RTO trainer or assessor, training advisor, training needs analyst and vocational education teacher.

Students who successfully complete this qualification may be eligible for entry into further study in TAE Training and Education.

Entry requirements

It is beneficial but not essential for students to have access to a workplace while undertaking this qualification.

Applicants must:

  • Be 21 years or over
  • Be sufficiently proficient in English (read, write and speak) to be able to work successfully in a highly regulated environment
  • Be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area.

Pre Training Review (PTR)

A pre training interview would be conducted with the applicant by a Frontier representative. This interview will help us identify your prior experience, existing knowledge, skills and suitability for the course. Pre Training Review will be valuable in determining additional support and/or reasonable adjustment required for you to successfully complete the course.

Language, Literacy & Numeracy

Applicants must undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment during their induction session prior to beginning the qualification. Results will be assessed on an individual level by the assessor.

Depending upon the level of support required for the language, literacy or numeracy an alternative training and assessment methods may be used or the learners will be recommended to pursue Foundation Skills program, which will help them fulfil the LLN gap and achieve the qualification.

Course delivery

Frontier Training and Technology offers the following delivery modes for this qualification:

  • Work based + Face to Face Delivery – Face to face delivery involves the delivery of training sessions either one-to-one or group based. Training sessions are conducted on site in the learners’ workplace and training sessions are scheduled according to employer or learner needs.
We expect minimum total of 3 hour per week for full time trainee. During the pre-training review, the trainers’ visit hours are decided and are reflected in the training plan.
The visit hours are decided upon by mutual agreement between the employer, trainer and the student. To ensure effectiveness of training sessions and encourage student participation, group sizes will be limited to a maximum of 6 participants in the workplace.
Each session will allow enough time for the students to learn the topic, undertake practice opportunities and, where required by learner or employer needs, complete / submit set tasks required for assessment purposes.
  • Blended Learning – a combination of face-to-face and online course delivery.
  • Self- paced learning – Self-paced learning involves the learner undertaking learning and assessment tasks between face-to-face consultations. The extent of self-paced learning is determined by each individual learner and is communicated through the trainer and assessor.
  • Online Delivery – On the online delivery mode the learner will undertake learning and assessment tasks through an online platform where each unit will be provided with enough time for the students to learn the topic, undertake practice opportunities, complete and submit set tasks required for assessment purposes.

The time taken to complete will depend on the learner and the delivery option selected.
